Job Summary Works under direct supervision and follows established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
Performs minor repairs and limited preventive maintenance (PM) on assigned equipment.
The Military Technician Advantage Program (MTAP) is a Waste Management, Inc.
initiative designed to take junior level enlisted personnel that are transitioning out of the military and develop them as professional mechanics for a fleet maintenance career track within Waste Management, Inc.
Besides full-time employment and a formal training program, the candidate may also have an opportunity to receive a tool allowance.
The ideal candidate is someone with a ground vehicle maintenance military occupational code and an E4 or E5 level pay grade The team atmosphere we mentioned above is critical to the success of our shops! Our technicians work closely with operations, and may be called upon to make road calls and assist in emergency situations on a route.
Waste Management technicians pride themselves on doing the work right the first time and we look for this same sense of personal ownership of work when considering new members for our team.
We also offer on-the-job training and encourage continuous learning and higher education to keep skills up to date.
There may be the opportunity for overtime, as well as weekend and/or holiday work.
Since our technicians are working with heavy equipment in a shop environment, it is required that they be able to push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally must work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
This position requires a valid Driver's License and the ability to obtain a Class A or B commercial driver's license within 1 year of hire.

If you are a talented technician who likes to work in a busy shop on some of the heaviest equipment on the road, this job is for you! Minimum qualifications of this position include:
Must be at least 18 years of age or older Legally eligible to work in the United States Technical School Degree/Certification or 1 year of experience performing automotive repair work on autos, heavy trucks, farming or construction equipment within the past seven years.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
