Weekend Only Part Time Dispatcher

Dispatchers coordinate the movements of means of transport like trucks, vans etc that are delivering safety equipment and supplies throughout all locations. A dispatcher contacts drivers and communicates with them through computers, phones or two-way radios. They assign the drivers to their respective runs and make sure that they leave and arrive according to schedule.

DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
o Dispatchers need to keep track of the progress that drivers make along their routes
o They use direct communication to follow the route taken by the drivers
o They also check the drivers' in and out time and transfer these records into a company's files
o Besides dealing with drivers on a daily basis, they must also handle any request and complaint made by the customers
o Dispatchers work on a rotational basis, that includes night shifts also and have to work on weekends and holidays o Answering of phones and taking orders
o Dispatching drivers at each location with appropriate delivery information
o Following up with drivers & customers to confirm orders have been delivered
o Entering orders in Navision o Process each day's activity promptly & accurately
o Confirming barcode numbers on get ready tickets & pick up tickets are accurate
o Faxing driver information to refineries (only Pasadena)
o Typing of daily Bayer ticket o File all closed rental orders & COR's
o Making copies for office personnel
o Assisting Posi room manager with duties such as cleaning & drying masks, wash straps & wipe North bottles.
o Washing towels for the Posi room.
o Maintaining a clean office.
o Any other duty's that the Branch and Office Managers request

Qualifications:
Education and/or
Experience:
o High school diploma or GED required

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
o Dispatchers need to have strong communication skills; they must give instructions clearly so that they are understood by the drivers
o They must be able to work under pressure
o As dispatchers receive a large number of calls and problems at the same time, they need to stay organized and prioritize the order of calls
o They also need to be adaptable to lengthy and strenuous working hours; dispatchers generally work a 40-hour week and spend long periods sitting at their desk.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Uses hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office, shop, and yard environment; may be frequently exposed to wet, humid, outside weather conditions and vibration; works in customer environments; exposure to high pressure, chemicals, shop traffic.
