Human Resource Administrator (Generalist)

Position Purpose
Summary: Administers employee health, welfare and federally mandated leave programs company-wide as well as ensures plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and plan provisions are followed. This position is responsible for human resources information including recordkeeping, reporting, and information systems. This position provides project management support to the Human Resources Director. Performs other HR generalist duties as assigned.
Principal Job
Responsibilities:
o Adhere to all Food Safety and GMP Policies.
o Is the first point of contact for all employee HR-related queries.
o Manages FMLA for the company; responsible leave tracking and employee notification.
o Administers health and welfare plans including enrollments and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions. Serves as the Cobra Administrator for company.
o Provides training support for the company. Is the Alchemy Training System expert and creates and administers the appropriate training modules assigned to each position.
o Ensure the relevant HR database is up to date, accurate and complies with legislation
o Assist in the recruitment process.
o Set up interviews and issue relevant correspondence.
o Manages workers' compensation claims for the company.
o Conducts New Employee Orientations for all new employees.
o Assists in benefit meeting and annual Open Enrollment presentations.
o Provides back up support for payroll and HRIS administration.
o Prepare and maintain related benefits records and reports.
o Administer paid time off and leave of absence programs.
o Organize and maintain electronic and paper files.
o Maintain administrative forms and manuals.
o This position does not directly or indirectly supervise any other employee.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
o Above average attendance and administration skills
o Familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office
o Maintains a high level of confidentiality
o Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills
o Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to learn
o Possesses tact and diplomacy
o Possesses the ability to work as part of a team
o The ability to work accurately, with attention to detail
o Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures; GMP's
o Demonstrated ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English
o Must have the ability to make recommendation to effective resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is in consistent with Company standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
Education and
Experience:
o Degree or equivalent

Physical Demands of the Position:
o While performing the duties of this position, the employee must sit for long periods of time; ability to handle varying levels of stress.
Work Environment:
o While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed general office conditions except when working in the actual production facility- where there is exposure to moving parts and vehicles; variable tempatures of both heat and cold; wet environment; loud environment.

EOEEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
