Hot Search A leading Manufacturer of key components for Fractional Horse Power (FHP) Electric Motors (Universal & DC) has a TECHNICAL SALES opening within its OEM Specialty Products Market Segment.
Their customers are primarily manufacturers of FHP Electric Motors and OEMs of products that use motors like food industry appliances, lab equipment, and power tools.
Will be working with an existing customer portfolio with repeat sales, but will also pursue and develop new customers.
The Technical Sales Executive job will combine technical sales, business development, and marketing responsibilities.
Job created to grow sales in the target market.
Initially travel will be around 75%, but it will drop to 50% once the Technical Sales Engineer has gotten up to speed on their responsibilities and target market.

DUTIES:
Achieve aggressive revenue and margin projections and significantly increase market share.
Manage, motivate and facilitate success of an independent representative network within territory to meet performance goals.
Foster and nurture existing customer relationships while developing new contacts.
Create prospects through networking, cold calling and other prospecting methods.
Follow up on all leads and sales opportunities in a timely fashion.
Respond to detailed Requests for Quote, Requests for Price, Requests for Information and other detailed procurement contracts.
Effectively collaborate and interface with internal company resources:
customer service, technical / engineering, R&D, and manufacturing operations.
Professionally represent company at all times, including at trade shows and business events.
All other sales-related or assigned duties pertaining to the business.
REQUIREMENTS:
LOCAL APPLICANTS STRONGLY PREFERRED.
However, may consider good up-and-coming technical sales executives living in other communities - then it would be a work from home scenario.
A BS Degree is required.
An Engineering Degree is preferred (ideally Mechanical or Electrical), but not required.
A strong technical aptitude to understand electro-mechanical mechanisms is key.
Must have 1 to 3 years of experience selling technical component products to OEM customers; ideally something for an electro-mechanical mechanism.
Must have proven NEGOTIATION SKILLS with OEM customers.
This experience is critical.
Must be able to resist / endure customer pressure regarding pricing.
Computer savvy; Microsoft Suite, email (Lotus Notes) and JD Edwards a plus.
Demonstrated public speaking and presentation skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English Active listening and creative problem solving skills A team player, who is also a good self-starter.
A proactive, aggressive sales personality.
Highly organized, detail oriented and able to prioritize own work Ability to juggle multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines Tactful, diplomatic and customer focused with a strong sense of urgency Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time within the first few months to a whole year; will drop down to 50% over time.
COMPENSATION:
Base:
Up to $75K with a 20% annual bonus.
Will get a company car to use free & clear (Co.
will pay for insurance, gas and maintenance repairs), with some commonsense restrictions.
Will also receive communication tools like a smart phone, a laptop, and portable Wifi Hotspot.
