VTC Technician

Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician will be a key member of an enterprise team whose primary responsibilities is to support the entire Army Reserve. This position's main focus will be on the implementation and ongoing support of the VTC infrastructure and the ongoing development of video stream technology. The success in this position will be heavily dependent on cross collaboration and partnership with the other IT teams to ensure that we deliver well thought out and innovative solutions that creates great customer/client experience.
Essential Job Duties
- Includes repairing/replacing and or updating any hardware that is not operational; updating software and testing. Hardware and software maintenance and upgrades will be performed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
- Provide on-site support personnel that will perform general VTC support, audio/video conference bridge scheduling, facilitation of video rooms, troubleshooting of audio/video related issues, integration and configuration of audio / video endpoints and secure / non-secure ISEC components, reporting, and training,
Required Skills, Education & Experience
In depth knowledge of HDX Codec
In depth knowledge of VTC infrastructure equipment
Portable desktop VTC User equipment
Switching equipment circuit switched or packet switched e.g., Internet Protocol (IP) based
Audio / Video Bridging equipment
ISEC Secure/Non-Secure Video Network Classification Switch
Data communications equipment
Meeting Room Manager for Scheduling
Tandberg Management Suite (TMS)
Multi-Level Visual Information System (MVIS)
Converged systems (e.g. voice over IP (VOIP), everything over IP (EOIP), VTC equipment
Customized packaged solutions that enhance the agency's VTC infrastructure
Knowledge of H.323 protocol
Familiarity with Cisco and other brands of codec
Familiarity with SIP
General knowledge of IP networking
Experience with room automation systems
Experience with HD video systems

years of general experience engineering, implementing and troubleshooting IT Infrastructure
Technical understanding of multi-tiered client/server architectures, LAN and WAN technologies.
Great documentation skills are required - you will establish and work within a consistent documentation framework.
Meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to establish and work within a consistent documentation framework
Exhibit a strong work ethic and technical leadership skills

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
