This candidate will provide management and leadership to a crew to achieve safety, quality and production goals. We are searching for individuals who are dependable, responsible and quality-minded who have a history of working safely in a manufacturing environment.
We are a manufacturer of premium-quality building and mechanical insulation, commercial roofing, glass fibers and nonwoven materials for commercial, industrial and residential applications. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries including building products, aerospace, automotive and transportation, filtration, commercial interiors, waterproofing and wind energy.
The Defiance, Ohio location produces cured and uncured fiberglass products that serve the Automotive,
Aerospace, OEM, Air Handling and Pipe & Mechanical markets.
Responsibilities:
oProvide management and leadership to a production shift of 30
hourly employees to achieve safety, quality and production goals.
oEstablish and maintain good working relationships with all employees.
oPlan and schedule work assignments to maximize production equipment.
oSupport safety/environmental program to meet established plant initiatives.
oMonitor quality activities on newly developed products.
oContinuously looking for improvement in all areas.
oAdministration of union contract.
oPreparation of equipment maintenance recommendations.
REQUIREMENTS
oHigh School Diploma or GED.
o2
years working in a manufacturing environment.
o2 years relevant supervisory experience.
oAbility to hold people accountable
oExperience in basic equipment and process troubleshooting
oExperience working with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
oAbility to communicate with all levels of employees across the organization.
oAbility to be flexible on shift assignment (24/7) - (B-12a-8am; C-8am-4pm; D-4pm-12am; X-Swing)
oAbility to drive between plant locations (3 miles)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
oCollege degree preferred AA/AS Degree.oExperience with SAP/ERP/ADP.
oPrevious experience in managing safety compliance and engagement
oExperience in managing to a union contract/employees and handling grievances.
oProcess improvement tools such as Lean /Six Sigma.
oProven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
oProven leadership capabilities.oProven experience in creating an effective work team.
oExperience supervising teams of 30 or more people.
Skills and Certifications
Ideal Candidate Ideal candidate will have progressive career progression out of a strong industrial manufacturing environment, AS degree and union experience. Ideal Candidate should have worked for the following company(ies): 24/7 continuous operations environments
