Job Description:
The Front Desk Shift Supervisor is responsible for coordinating front office activities of the Warehouse Hotel and resolve problems arising from guests' complaints, reservation and room assignment activities, and unusual requests and inquiries by performing the following essential duties personally, or with the assistance of the Warehouse Hotel Team.
Essential Job Functions:
o Assign duties and shifts to workers and observe performances to ensue adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures.
o Confer and cooperate with other department heads to ensure coordination of activities
o Greet, register, assign rooms to guests, and issue room keys
o Transmit and receive telephone messages
o Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, recreational facilities in the area, shopping dining, entertainment, and travel directions
o Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts
o Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests
o Make and confirm reservations
o Post charges (such as room, food, or telephone) to ledger
o Make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations and arrange for tours
o Deposit guests' valuables in hotel safe or safe deposit box
o Sell a variety of season tickets
o Assist in delivery of luggage, fruit baskets, flowers, etc. to Guest Rooms
o Maintain inventory and upkeep of brochures for Lobby brochure racks
o Use switchboards to connect interoffice and house call, as well as answer screens and route outside calls
o Supply information to callers and record messages
o Perform clerical duties such as typing, group arrival preparation, proofreading, and mailing brochures and information to guests
o Report tasks to the maintenance, housekeeping, common area, and management using multiple communication methods
o Record and deliver wake-up calls
o All other duties as assigned
Basic
Qualifications:
o Must be 18 years of age or older
o Bachelor's degree in related field
o Must have dependable transportation to and from work
o Ability to read, speak and understand the English language
o 1-2 year(s) in a hotel front office role
o Previous supervisory experience in guest focused department

o A positive and friendly attitude towards guests, customers, and fellow employees
o Experience communicating with people of diverse demographics
o Must be extremely detailed with outstanding communication skills
o Capability to multi-task multiple projects/duties at once
o Strong computer skills with previous experience using hotel front office software
o Ability to follow directions both written and verbally
o Integrity to safeguard confidential information
o Demeanor to remain calm in tense or stressful situations
o Initiative to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Working Conditions:
o Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
o Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending, lifting, sitting, reaching, and typing on a computer for long periods of time
o Ability to work in moderately noisy work environment for long periods of time and communicate effectively in this environment
o Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on occasionEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
