Pharmacy Tech MMC Retail Pharmacy Full Time Days
Description:
Assists in the preparation and distribution of medications in a safe and rational manner under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist and following departmental policies and procedures.
Duties include:
1) intake of new prescriptions, 2) taking patient information, 3) data entry of prescription, 4) billing insurance companies, 5) calling insurance companies to resolve issues, 6)Initiating Prior Authorization process, 7) preparing/packaging medications according to dispensing method, 8) checking for outdated medications, 9) checking in orders and do returns through wholesalers, 10) assisting patients to ring out sales at POS, 11) making bank deposits.
Maintains and demonstrates knowledge in the following areas of Pharmacy Practice 1) Pharmacy Calculations 2) Generic to Trade Name Relationships 3) Rx abbreviations and symbols Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Associates degree preferred.
1 year of Pharmacy experience.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
