Job Opening for Hospital CFO
Title: Hospital Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Reports to: Hospital Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
South Big Horn County Hospital (SBHCH), a 6 bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) located in Basin, WY is seeking an experienced hospital Chief Financial Officer (CFO). SBHCH also includes a medical clinic and a 37-bed nursing home. Basin is located in the heart of the Big Horn Basin in North Central Wyoming, offering amazing outdoor opportunities in the nearby Big Horn Mountains, including hunting, fishing, skiing, boating, hiking, and numerous other outdoor activities. It's a great place to live and raise a family.
Summary:
The hospital CFO is assigned onsite financial responsibility for the facility, including the three entities mentioned above (hospital, clinic, and nursing home). The CFO administers, directs and monitors all financial activities and keeps the CEO and the Board of Trustees informed of the financial condition of the facility.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Work with the CEO & board to develop financial goals and objectives for the facility.
Provide proactive guidance regarding management of assets and investments, and financial trends within the facility.
Work with department managers to implement financial plans and productivity benchmarks, and to monitor progress toward financial goals.
Establish a five year financial plan for the facility as part of the facilities strategic planning process.
Provide the CEO and the board with monthly financial statements.
Maintain effective revenue cycle processes to keep accounts receivable at acceptable levels and minimize bad debt write-offs.
Assist with the hospital's cost reporting requirements.
Supervise accounting, patient financial services, credit & collection, purchasing, health information management, payroll, and cashier.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor degree in accounting;
Masters in accounting or healthcare administration preferred;
Minimum of five years hospital financial management experience required;
Prior hospital CFO experience preferred;
Critical Access Hospital experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
CPA preferred
