Special Education Classroom Support Professional
8:45 am - 3:15 pm Monday through Friday or may job share 2 or 3 days a week
Genesee Lake School is a nationally recognized and respected provider of educational and residential services to children and adolescents with special needs. Our beautiful campus in the countryside outside of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, is an ideal setting for our students to learn, grow, and achieve their maximum potential. We offer a Day School Program for children from area school districts who need more intensive educational services. We also have students who live with us year round.
- Provides support and assistance to students in the classroom
- Assists assigned student to maintain focus and non-disruptive behavior in school
- Maintains record of student progress
- Free nutritious meals from our cafeteria while working with our students
Behavior Support Specialist
At Genesee Community Services we provide care and services to children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities. We travel to the children's homes in Waukesha and/or Milwaukee County after school and early evenings when families are available. Weekend appointments with families may also be an option.
- May provide respite
- Assist with daily living skills
- Help develop social skills
- Provide individual and family counseling
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, or Social Services field preferred or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years relevant work experience
Patience, tolerance and a calm demeanor required
21 years of age or older
Valid WI driver's license with an acceptable driving record per company policy
