TeleHealth Nurse Educator
A-Line Staffing is hiring a TeleHealth Nurse Educator, for an immediate need! TX RN License required. The position is with a worldwide leader in pharmaceutical consulting and distribution with offices in Frisco, TX.
Under general supervision of the Nurse Supervisor or other supervisory/management level position, provides telephonic patient care services in a pharmacy based setting per the regulations and guidelines of the nurse practice act in the state in which the agency and/or patient is located. Ensures all aspects of performance are in compliance with internal policies and procedures and with all federal and state mandated rules and regulations, ensuring high-quality customer service and providing a safe environment when rendering care.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Utilizes and documents nursing processes to provide total patient care to patients within program guidelines as defined by Standard Operating Procedure, the Telephonic Registered Nurse will:
Identify and assess patient and family/caregiver needs and begin appropriate interventions.
Provide compassionate telephonic care as evidenced by excellent listening and assessment skills.
Provide education, information, and encourage therapy compliance by providing telephonic initial and follow up calls tailored to meet patient/caregiver specific needs within program guidelines.
Utilize proper HIPAA practices with all patients and medical offices and in all situations.
Understand the need to provide excellent internal and external customer service.
Have a comprehensive knowledge base and understanding of all dispensed Drugs and contracted Education/Compliance Calls.
Follow all policies, procedures and work instructions.
Utilize the company database system and programs to accurately update and document patient medical information, notes and assessments.
Report Adverse Drug Events as appropriate according to company and manufacturer policy and procedure.
Obtain the necessary certifications and licensing in a timely manner required to perform job responsibilities.
Manage worklist and meet deadlines/metrics for scheduled calls and other job related responsibilities.
Utilize proper phone etiquette at all times.
Follow company policy and procedure in handling emergency situations.
Manage and monitor telephone and queues as required/directed.
Acquire knowledge and understanding of and be able to meet/perform within Service Level Goals.
Follow call assessment and scripting where required
Perform job related duties as assigned.
Participate in on call rotation and any clinical audit/certification/performance review processes.
Job Requirements
TX RN Compact State License is required.
RN licensing in additional states is not required for the temporary role but is a plus. This would be required should this become a permanent position.
BSN is a plus, but not necessary for the temporary role. It would be required for FTE consideration.
Experience working with Scriptmed and RightFax is a plus.
Telephonic Case Management experience strongly preferred.
MS-neurological/RA-immunological, HCV - hepatic, and Oncology/Hematology experience a plus.
Broad training in multiple programs and drugs
Superior interpersonal communication skills, including written and verbal interaction and the ability to adapt communication style to persons representing diverse personal, professional and socio-economic backgrounds.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and multitask
Excellent evaluation and critical thinking skills.
Strong assessment skills using sound clinical judgment and intervention as appropriate. Pleasant telephonic voice possessing strong listening skills and the ability to show compassion empathy and empathy in all customer service and education situations.
Ability to work well with others in a team setting, displaying a positive enthusiastic and helpful attitude towards others.
Strong working knowledge of computers and typing in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs
Proficiency with MS Office Outlook and Word programs.
