Utility Billing and Revenue Collection Coordinator

The Village of Wheeling Finance Department seeks a Utility Billing and Revenue Collection Coordinator. This position performs clerical work related to all stages of the water billing operation and other associated Finance Department functions. Work involves responsibility for processing financial records in accordance with established policies and procedures and the utilization of specialized office practices. Handling questions and concerns from the public is an important job requirement and considerable authority is given to this person in dealing with the water customers.
Qualified candidates should have at least three years' experience in responsible and varied clerical work of a financial nature including public contact, knowledge of accounts receivable/billing procedures, strong communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective and diplomatic working relationships with external and internal customers, and computer skills preferably with Microsoft Office software. High school diploma or equivalent also required. Municipal Government and Pentamation software experience desirable. Minimum starting salary:
$45,396.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
