Nurse Educator RN
WORK SCHEDULE:
Incumbent will normally work a Monday-Friday 8 hour tour of duty.
Schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the organization.
Responsibilities:

The Nurse Educator is organizationally responsible to the Associate Chief, Nursing Education and Research Align programs and learning activities with the operations plan and key initiatives of the Service, the Medical Center, and VISN.
Foster and promote an environment conductive to lifelong learning that promotes critical and reflective thinking.
Facilitate constructive working relationships with all levels of staff to meet the mission of LLVAHCS.
This is done in an atmosphere of trust, respect, excellence, compassion, and caring.
Facilitate the implementation and development of Nursing Service policies, procedures, and standards.
Provide ongoing assistance to staff on patient care issues through consultation and education.
Use the expertise of other human resources, outside professionals, and multi- or interdisciplinary teams in providing learning opportunities.
Apply teaching/learning theories in development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs.
Evaluate and document the effectiveness of educational interventions through formal or informal means utilizing the nursing process as a framework.
Facilitates Nursing Research and Quality Management (QM).
Utilize and promote research and evidence based findings in clinical practice.
Promote leadership development.
Collaborates with monthly orientation of new Nursing Employees and CPR training.
Takes responsibility for professional growth and development to meet the goals of the yearly Individual Development Plan (IDP).
Provides technical assistance, consultation, and guidance to national, state, and/or local agencies, organizations, research entities, or agency field staff regarding the development, extension, and improvement of educational studies, programs, systems, strategies, and services.
- Provide coverage to med/surg, telemetry, step-down, ED, ICU, and for other units (Inpatient Psych, Ambulatory Care, Specialty Clinics) as needed.
Relocation Expenses:
Relocation expenses are NOT authorized for this position.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
