WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
The Senior Credit Manager's (SCM) primary responsibilities are investigating and assessing the credit aspects of seller/servicer guidelines for existing counterparties on a routine basis and analyzing portfolio and industry trends within assigned areas of responsibility. This position will work directly with the Executive Mortgage Banking Committee for the organization to set credit policy and work directly with the product development team and underwriting management to implement effective credit management and credit decisions.
The SCM, in conjunction with the SVP of Operations maintains regular communication about industry trends and specific credit issues with the Mortgage Banking Team and all division executives. The SCM must be a fully experienced Residential Mortgage Lending professional and will have shared accountabilities in Product Development and Mortgage Banking Operations for the loan origination activity and subsequent credit quality.
The SCM has accountability for training and quality of underwriting department in all aspects of credit and credit decisioning. The role involves being a leader and member of Product Development, Exception Management, and Loan Committee.
WHAT'S REQUIRED:
Minimum of 15
years relevant experience in the Mortgage Banking field as a Credit Officer, Credit Manager, Underwriting Manager, or equivalent experience with managing repurchase risk
Working knowledge of credit policies and procedures, experience in structuring and documenting mortgage transaction, and capability to ensure loan quality
Working knowledge of Agency, Government and Non-Conforming credit requirements
Experience supervising training and on-going skill set of underwriting organization
Sound leadership, organizational and time-management skills
Knowledge of automated underwriting systems and their input/output
Experience with repurchase response and/or rebuttal review and response preparation
Knowledge of Secondary Market deal documents, particularly representations and warrants
Experience in Loan Committee write-ups or similar functions
Bachelor's degree preferred

KEY
Responsibilities:
Analyzing various risk elements of credit and underwriting risk and presenting written executive summaries/comments of credit analysis to the management of the operational Mortgage Banking divisions and other senior executives
Write and maintain Credit Policy and Guideline Policy for the Organization - development of improved policies and processes that provide for creditworthy, profitable, and growth
Integral part of the Product Development Group in developing guides for investor outlets
Participating in various Credit and Credit Risk management structures to obtain a holistic perspective on organizational credit management
Participating in corporate management and strategy meetings
Partnering with regional and key market sales management in a collaborative, collegial, and professional manner to originate high-quality mortgage originations
Performing other duties as assigned
Escalation and Credit Decision in conjunction with Underwriting Managers

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
