Program Representative I (Copywriter) - Wheaton, IL

About the Job
Nexant is seeking a program representative. This role is responsible for brainstorming, creating, and transforming ideas into words for articles, advertisements, publications, and pamphlets. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), specifically in Word formatting required.
Duties and Responsibilities
o Communications/brand expert - able to write following multiple client's needs
o Work across multiple different communications standards, tone, proofing style, etc.
o Write copy for clients' ads, brochures, TV spots, radio, and other forms of advertising
o Research the technical properties of energy efficiency programs and products
o Determine what makes energy efficiency programs appealing to consumers
o Develop unique, new concepts
o Work with marketing representatives and graphic designer to determine client needs and budget
o Work with graphic designer to create ideas
o Write clear and persuasive copy for websites, brochures, ads, and other means of advertising
o Update digital media with timely content
o Revise, edit, and proofread content as needed or directed by client
o Respond to feedback in a timely manner
o Work within tight deadlines
o Check copy for spelling and grammar errors (including multiple client communications guidelines and styles)
o Research competitors and keep abreast of market trends
o Explore different ideas and concepts for both the visual and verbal elements in tandem with the creative team.
o Write press releases and press release guidelines.
Qualifications
o 4 year degree preferred or equal combination of education and experience. 3-5 years of copy writing or copy editing experience
o Portfolio that shows a breadth of work in both web and print, with an emphasis on technical writing and advertising
o Ability to work with, understand, and contribute to creative direction from marketing team and graphic designer
o Able to balance competing priorities and projects and work under tight deadlines
o Disciplined time management skills and superior attention to detail
o Strong verbal and written communication skills
o Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
o Proven time management ability. Able to meet deadlines and anticipate difficulty in meeting deadlines
o Knowledge of or experience working in a marketing team a plus
o Knowledge of or experience in the energy efficiency, technical, or engineering and consulting industries a plus
o Other duties as directed.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
