Histotech (HT or HTL)
Under supervision of the Director of Laboratory, cuts and stains sections of body tissue to enable microscopic examination by the Pathologist and transcribes the Pathologist's dictation. He/she maintains exact and accurate records, as well as prepares stains and solutions for routine staining and for special stains. Understanding the policies and standards related to infection prevention/control, specifically hospital OSHA, and exposure control plan of blood borne pathogens. Also, demonstrates safe practice regarding self and patients concerning communicable diseases and blood borne pathogens. He/she will also know how to report incidents, understands how diseases are transmitted and prevented, plus use available personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements:
1) Currently registered by the American society of Clinical Pathologists is preferred; 2) Ability to work in a fast paced laboratory setting; 3) Ability to work in a team or individually; 4) Take verbal and written direction; 5) Capable of clear, concise communication.

Salary is commensurate with up to 10 years experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
