Business Systems Analysts study the overall business and information needs of an organization, in order to develop solutions to business and related technology problems. A business Systems Analyst's role is usually undertaken prior to the system design, building and programming stages of the systems development process. Works closely with clients to identify business needs and the costs and benefits of implementing a computing solution. Construct IT definitions based on identified needs of the organization. Work with other IT experts to address networking and hardware needs. Devise and document a general system design based on the client's anticipated requirements. Negotiate options with the client.

Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Coordinates project teams to design/build automated solutions.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions - In order of importance, list primary job
Responsibilities:
Acts as liaison between business user and development team.
Prepares detailed functional specifications, flow charts, project plans, and project budgets.
Configures system settings and options
Plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing
Creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
Designs details of automated systems.
Documents business requirements and revises existing system logic difficulties.
Researches solutions and plans and coordinates the remediation of these deficiencies.
Assist with the design and implementation of operational and system enhancements to ensure production capabilities are both effective and efficient.
Manages requests for changes to the specifications.
Maintains knowledge of organization's current and future architecture in order to assure functional specifications consistent with the technology strategic model.
Provides consultation to users in the area of automated systems.
Leads cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.
May perform duties by working in conjunction with contracted or outsourced organizations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent work experience
5 years of related work experience with demonstrated skills in business liaison, project management, testing, and creation of functional specifications.

Required Skills
10 years of Technical BA Experience
Heavy Agile/ Scrum Experience
Comes from Software Development groups/companies
Healthcare experience preferred but not required

Department / Team environment:
Work with Executives and clinical executives (Area Medical Directors) and clinical users (MD,
RN, LPN, etc) to gather requirements.
Use Rally to log minimal releasable features (MRF) and create user stories
Work with SQL and Java Developers in Scrum team settings.
Departments functions as a software development team
Ability to work remote - possibly one day per week - but agreed to by Scrum team. Needs to be local.
Minimal travel to Denver/Boulder medical offices as needed to meet with customer.
Experience in working with system conversions
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
