Software Engineer
Design and develop computer application software that makes the world a safer place. Help develop multi-biometric technologies for fingerprint, iris and facial recognition for identification systems. The solutions meet a wide range of security needs for people, companies and governments worldwide, including identity management, personal rights for residents and travelers, physical access to airports or other high-value sites, and logical access, either online or via secure terminals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Designs, codes, customize and unit-test software programs in C/C++, Python and XML languages, primarily on Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP platforms
o Designs and modifies databases in a relational database management systems environment, specifically Sybase or Oracle.
o Prepares and maintains software design and code documentation, as well as software release/installation/maintenance documentation, to include the creation of technical documentation which defines systems solutions.
o Provides software support to QA testing and installed systems.
o Maintains software skills to match direction of products
o Meets software delivery dates as directed
o Raises risks/issues as soon as they are discovered
o Performs software reviews
o Provides software estimates as required
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
o Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent levels of work experience
o Must have a minimum of three (3) years' prior experience in software design and development
o Must demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of processes and routine work applications
o Must have experience with JAVA programming, other programming languages a plus C, C++, Python, JavaScript, VB Scritption, etc.
o Must have experience with Unix/Linux and Windows environments
o Must have experience working with relational and object oriented database management systems, preferably in a Sybase or Oracle environment
o Must have experience with application development platforms for building enterprise application and business critical business process that involves workflow automation and process orchestration
o Must have experience with SQL programming
o Must have experience working with Active Directory infrastructure, Message Queues, EJB / J2EE, JBOSS, SOAP and XSL
o Must have experience with Sendmail or postfix
o Must have experience with Jasper iReport
o Must have experience with IDEs (Eclipse, NetBeans)
o Must have good analytical skills with strong attention to detail
o Must have good organizational skills; must be able to multi-task and/or prioritize work, even when faced with conflicting demands and variety of problems
o Must have good writing skills including documentation skills
o Must have excellent verbal; must be able to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively with technical teams, management, and customers
o Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships
o Must be a self-motivated individual, able to operate independently within established department/company practices
o Must be willing and able to travel and possess a valid US Passport
o US Citizenship is required
o Must be able to pass an FBI Back Ground Check

o Practical experience with established software development methodologies and source code management tools
