Software Development Manager - eCommerce



Job duties
The Software Development Manager is responsible for the supervision of the eCommerce software engineering team. Ensures the technical strategic alignment within the internal and global IT eCommerce organizations in cooperation with the other Engineering teams, IT Management teams and QA.
Creates and drives a sustainable training strategy and know-how transfer for his/her engineering teams
Manages the software engineering resources pool and ensures proper resource allocation depended on project/business needs. Defines the software development process in cooperation with the IT management and QA leads. Implements the software development process. Sales Engineering - Supports RFQ processes with software design and effort estimations. Design - based on business requirement definitions, produce standardized and detailed technical specifications. Project Delivery - work within time constraints to meet deadlines. Identify and communicate issues with project deliveries. Write maintainable code in a professional software engineering environment. Work with QA to provide an understanding of new application features and participate in the review of test plans. Work in a team environment to implement projects using tools such as: Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, ReSharper, wiki and whiteboards. Job requirements
BS in Computer Science or equivalent

years application development experience

years experience in leadership role
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong leadership skills
Experienced in making IT strategic decisions
In-depth knowledge of the .NET framework and development experience in .NET for the past 5
years, primarily in C#. Experience with .NET 3.x technologies (WCF, LINQ) and .NET 4.
Strong working knowledge of XML, XSLT, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
Good understanding of relational database technology; experience with SQL Server database design and stored procedures development
Strong understanding of software development methodologies and principles, including design patterns and reusability
Understanding of factors that influence application performance and scalability
Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Make an impact and thrive in small, collaborative, energetic teams.
Experience with test and build automation
Experience with external system integrations
Experience with agile development methodologies, e.g. Scrum
