General Characteristic:
EXTENSIVE ORTHOPEDIC AME/QME EDITING EXPERIENCE A PLUS!
The Workers' Compensation Orthopedic Med-Legal Editor will be responsible for the review and editing of Med-Legal reports, and handling for completeness and accuracy. Medical writing and editing experience required.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Must have experience with Med-Legal Workers' Compensation reporting
o Must have experience with reviewing AME/QME reports
o Must have thorough understanding of AMC Guides 5th edition and Labor codes 4663 & 4664
o Must be familiar with old method of rating
o Excellent communication skills and writing skills in regards to medical terminology
o Must be familiar and have experience with MS Office
o Must be well versed with worker's compensation and medical terminology
o Strong organizational skills, detailed-oriented, and ability to handle multiple task
o Must maintain high levels of confidentiality at all times
o Must exhibit a high degree of professional excellence characterized by sound independent judgment, initiative and high standard of ethics.
o Discrete handling of confidential and non-routine information
o Must possess high attention to detail
Qualifications:
o 3 to 5
years work experience in Workers' Compensation cases is highly preferred
o Experience in Orthopedics preferred
o Honest, smart, dependable and organized
o Receptive to constructive criticism and feedback
o Ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow up on assignments
o Positive attitude, well mannered
o Self starter, proactive and works well with little supervision
o Excellent analytical skills, likes to be accurate and a superb attention to detail
o Intermediate or higher skill level in Microsoft office
o Associates degree or higher, Bachelors degree preferred

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
