Social Worker (Housing and Urban Development-HUDVASH)
Senior Social Workers are licensed or certified to independently practice social work at an advanced level.
The Social Worker is primarily assigned to HUD-VASH (Housing and Urban Development- VA Supported Housing Program) which is an intensive case management program for chronically homeless Veterans aimed at providing psychosocial services to Veterans while residing in stable housing through HUD's Section 8 voucher system.
The incumbent is the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Specialist for Homeless Programs.
This position provides case management and intervention support to HUD-VASH in a team oriented, recovery based program.
The SUD Specialist supports the HUD-VASH Program by providing continuity of care between Homeless Programs through services to Veterans with SUDs as they transition from programs such as Domiciliary or Residential Rehabilitation and Treatment Programs (RRTPs), Health Care for Homeless Veterans Contracted Housing, and Grant Per Diem Programs to HUD-VASH.
The incumbent will provide on-going substance use case managent and early treatment interventions to promote sustained stability and abstinence in HUD-VASH subsidized permanent housing.
The social worker must be able to develop appropriate professional engage in treatment.
The social worker will provide appropriate group and individual case management and treatment.

The duty station, based upon the needs of the health care system, may require the individual to work from other facilities (e.
g.
, Biloxi, MS; Mobile Outpatient Clinic, Alabama; Eglin Outpatient Clinic, Florida ; Joint Ambulatory Care Center Pensacola , Florida; and Panama City Outpatient Clinics , Florida).
MAY BE ASSIGNED TO ONE OR A COMBINATION OF SETTINGS REQUIRING THE SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER QUALIFICATION.
MAY ALSO BE ASSIGNED TO ANY NEW PROGRAM DEVELOPED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE VETERANS WE SERVE.
ASSIGNMENT LOCATION MAY BE AT ANY FACILITY INCLUDED IN THE GULF COAST VETERANS HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.
THIS POSITION MAY BE USED TO FILL OTHER POSITIONS AS THEY BECOME AVAILABLE.
Work Schedule:
Administrative Hours; Monday thru Friday.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
