Facilities Service Technician (Medxcel Facilities)
The Facilities Technician assists with the maintenance of equipment, systems and structures.
Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESo High School diploma or equivalent.
Certification in trade (carpenter, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, related) preferred.
o One (1) to five (5) years of experience in general building maintenance required.
Graduate of trade school or equivalent experience (carpenter, electrical, HVAC, plumbing).
o Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
RESPONSIBILITIESo Assists with performing testing, inspection, implementation and maintenance of equipment,systems and structures.
o Performs minor repairs and replacements, including replacing light bulbs and fireextinguishers, as requested/necessary.
o Receives and distributes materials throughout the facility.
o Performs the moving of items within/between locations and from/to storage, includingfurniture, equipment, and files.
o May perform daily rounds to provide service, repair and maintenance on hospital beds;transport equipment, wheel chairs, stretchers; TV, nurse call systems; medical gasoutlets, alarm panels and zone valve locations and other equipment as assigned.
o May repair or replace faulty or damaged mechanical, electrical, plumbing, airconditioning, and boiler equipment.
Repairs leaking connections, fittings, couplings andfixtures, faucets, washers, seats, stems and valves; replaces spigots, faucets and valves;unstops obstructed plumbing lines and fixtures.
o May repair overhead paging systems; consults with customers on the operation and repair of non-life support patient equipment.
o Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
o All other duties as assigned.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
