Advanced Medical Support Assistant

This position is located at the Springfield Community Based Outpatient Clinic (SCBOC), Springfield, OH.
The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (MSA) is assigned to the Primary Care Service and is responsible for medical administrative/clerical duties in support of the implementation and sustainment of the VHA Primary Care PACT initiative.
This incumbent provides outstanding customer service on a routine basis by actively listening to customers with respect and concern; pays attention to details of customer's needs and helps the customer arrive at a satisfactory solution in a timely manner.
Responds to inquiries from Veterans, Medical Center staff and other agencies regarding Veteran's entitlement to care; utilizes knowledge of Primary Care clinic procedures and processes in order to accurately schedule appointments in the appropriate physician/specialty clinics in accordance with existing procedures and guidelines.
Incumbent uses knowledge of Primary Care services and procedure guidelines to clearly inform our customers (orally or in writing), or be able to direct inquiries regarding services to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
Note:
The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will review the selected candidate's education and experience and recommend the grade and salary at which the candidate will be placed.
For internal selectees eligible for promotion, the board will determine grade and HR will determine step in accordance with policy.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
