Job
Summary: Working under the direction a licensed pharmacist (consultant), this position is responsible for daily pharmacy operations and functions as a working supervisor. This position will partner with the Licensed Pharmacist in procuring, receiving, storing, distributing, recording, and dispositioning of drug products in accordance with established policies, procedures, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Key
Responsibilities:
Responsible for medication preparation and dispensing to Pyxis and EMS
Monitors drug and narcotic usage levels and orders refills as needed
Coordinates medication error and adverse event reporting utilizing CPSI and Pyxis; report's findings to QAPI Committee
Coordinates P&T committee activities
Ensures staff receive the necessary training and consultation to enhance their understanding of requirements; communicates changes to staff
Ensures operational effectiveness of drug room
Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the drug room
Minimum
Qualifications:
Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Oklahoma; license must be valid and in good standing
Associates Degree in Nursing
Three (3) years of successful experience as a supervisor or in a 'lead' capacity in a nursing role
Ability to understand the importance and impact of various healthcare laws and regulations such as HIPAA, patient confidentiality, etc.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing
Three (3) years of successful experience as a supervisor or in a 'lead' capacity in a hospital pharmacy or drug room
