Social Worker Mental Health Clinic BHIP
Patient Care Thorough familiarity with the skills and techniques of psychosocial assessment and treatment, including the most current evidence based practices as applied to the veteran population# The incumbent functions as an independent therapist and provides individual, group, family and couples' psychotherapy, crisis oriented emergency care as indicated, and case management services# The incumbent coordinates with other professional staff within both inpatient and outpatient settings# The incumbent:
o Assesses patients to determine their mental health needs and current DSM diagnosis o Participates in case conferences to evaluate and plan treatment in collaboration with the veteran/family o Provides/participates in consultation to/from other professional staff o Participates in weekly staff conferences regarding administrative and staff development issues o Maintains appropriate clinical charting, records and reports to facilitate patient care, evaluation and research o May provide clinical supervision and/or consultation to students, trainees, para-professionals, volunteers, and other staff o Establishes and maintains effective therapeutic relationships o Works independently with patients and families who are experiencing a variety of psychiatric, medical and social problems utilizing individual, group and family counseling and therapy skills# o Possess an ability to evaluate his/her own practice through professional peer review, case conferences, and other organizational means o Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with people from varied backgrounds o Possess a general knowledge of veteran's benefits and services relating to special programs, service-connected compensation, and non-service connected pension# Facilitates referrals based upon veterans needs and eligibility# o Is able to meet the needs of customers while supporting VA missions o Other duties as assigned Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:
00am - 4:
30pm NOTE:
Candidate must be willing to work weekends, irregular work hours and extended hours.
The candidate must be willing to be placed, detailed or temporarily assigned to other related services and/or locations, if necessary.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
