We are looking for mature, responsible people who want to work with dogs. We carefully screen potential employees to ensure the continuation of excellent service while providing a safe and fun environment. Dependability is a must open 365 per year rain/sleet/snow/hurricane! If an employee does not show up, there will not be enough staff to provide a safe environment for the dogs in our care.
Flexibility is also required. Days and hours may change due to the number of dogs in house on certain days. You must be able to work weekends and some holidays. You must have your own vehicle. If you do not have a genuine love towards animals, and are not a great cleaner, this is not the place for you. It is physically demanding. We are seeking people who are mature enough to understand and accept the responsibility of caring for other people's furry children! This job can be a lot of fun and very rewarding but it is not sitting around and playing with puppies all day. The dogs need to be cleaned up after which involves handling a lot of poop and pee. You will need to be organized and be able to remember what dog belongs to which client. You will have to remember all of the dogs' names and behavioral issues. Behavior must be closely monitored at all times to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
You cannot be afraid of bad dog behavior. While working here you may be exposed to: excrement, loud noises, chemicals, parasites, and the ever present risk of being bitten, scratched and bruised. These are the potential hazards you accept while working here. Cleaning is a major part of every position at the daycare. If you get ill at the idea of cleaning up vomit and diarrhea, this is not the job for you. You must be able to pick up 40 lbs. You will be on your feet for the majority of your shift. You cannot be allergic to animals. Dogs can provide hours of laughter but this is a demanding position.
