RN - Bonham Ambulatory Care Clinic
There are vacancies in Ambulatory Care for a Registered Nurse in Bonham, Texas as part of the Veterans Access Choice and Accountability Act (VACAA).
The following is a list of skills and characteristics that are essential attributes of this assignment.
a.
A baccalaureate degree is preferred.
Degree must be from a program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is prefered.
b.
Minimum of 2-3 year recent acute care nursing experience is required.
c.
Previous ambulatory care experience is preferred.
d.
Effective oral and written communication skills, ability to tactfully deal with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
e.
Ability to perform medical record reviews, collate and report review findings and monitor day-to-day operations/processes within the clinic work setting.
f.
Ability to perform abbreviated patient history and physical assessments, walk-in and telephone triage, laboratory order entries, as well as data collection skills.
g.
Ability to work in a self-directed manner, collaborating and coordinating with health care professionals outside of nursing service as required.
h.
Ability to interact with multi-disciplinary groups as evidenced by active participation in Nursing Service unit level work-teams, special task forces and/or service level programs.
i.
Ability to provide educational instruction to patients, families and staff.
j.
Knowledge of and functional in basic computer operations and proficiency in keyboarding.
Must have the physical capabilities to initiate crisis intervention measures, transfer/transport patients and the ability and willingness to accomplish satisfactory training and performance in nursing care emergencies.
Cross training for working in all clinics is required.
Flexibility in assignment scheduling that may include working Saturdays, some holidays, and flexible tours of duty (early/late clinics).
