Our client, based in Orange County, is looking for a VP of Finance with 10
years of experience. Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills are a must. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience but is in the range of $100-130k base plus bonus with good benefits.
The VP of Finance is responsible for working closely with the Chief Financial Officer to help manage the financial risks of the Bank and to comply with generally accepted accounting principles as well as with SEC and regulatory financial reporting requirements.This position assists the CFO in overseeing the Finance Departments practices and in the implementation of internal control over financial reporting within the Finance Department. Additionally, this position prepares variance and trend reports for the Board and Management; tracks loan and deposit product information and performance; analyzes of various operations of the Bank; and assists in preparing and monitoring department and company budgets. The Director is also responsible for interacting with regulatory examiners and independent auditors to facilitate the data gathering and examination processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Upholds the highest level of ethical behavior and business conduct.
Keeps abreast of the ever changing business, economic, financial, legal, and regulatory environments through training, literature, and other means.
Carries-out the long- and short-range Finance Department goals as communicated by the Chief Financial Officer. Works closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the Controller to facilitate accurate and timely filing of monthly Board packages, monthly and quarterly regulatory reports, press releases, annual financial statements, proxy statements, and tax returns.
Monitors Accounting operations, including compliance with related GAAP, SEC requirements, applicable Banking laws and regulations.
Reviews finance-related processes and related procedures at least annually to ensure that they are relevant, reasonable, and provide for effective internal control over financial reporting; ensures the finance-related procedures are created / updated based on results of the reviews.
Directs the Banks financial reporting efforts to ensure effective internal control over financial reporting (ICFR).
Promptly reports any identified material errors or suspicious activity to the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Internal Audit, Audit Committee Chairperson, and / or the Banks external auditor and monitors through to resolution.
May serve as a member of the Asset/Liability Management Committee (ALCO)
Performs financial and cost/benefit analysis and forecast performance of new and existing products, services, and functions on an as needed basis.
Tracks and analyzes various loan product performances; specifically, calculates and maintains documentation of loan portfolio performance by product type, including loss ratios, trend analysis, and delinquency analysis.
Reviews deposit products by cost, performance, and trends.
Assists in strategic planning and budgeting functions.
Assists in reviewing and monitoring expenses and budgets and producing management and committee reports.
Monitors stock options and dividends.
Serves as an internal resource to Senior and Department Managers in handling finance-related issues.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
