Assistant Controller/Cost Accounting Manager (lm)
This manufacturing company is seeking an Assistant Controller/Cost Accounting Manager. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime possible.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, assist in preparing timely internal and external financial statements for management, and coordinate activities with external auditors
Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of the consolidated business and assist in managing the general ledger
Perform analyses on, and analyze costs of all business segments. Affect change in current processes to assist in lowering overall cost structure of business
Analyze labor performance, both by person and within work centers. Work with management to improve tools to better manage labor efficiency and improve profitability
Assist in managing debt levels and compliance with any bank debt covenants, assist in evaluating and maintaining or improving internal controls
Provide management information to be used in essential decision making processes
Coordinate month and year end accounting close in a timely and accurate manner
Comply with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filing
Other duties as required to successfully maintain and grow the business
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts or Science with a Major in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 5 years overall Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Minimum of 3 years Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Job costing, general ledger management, and prior management of people are a plus
Prior experience with EPICOR Business System is a plus
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Mail, Word, and PowerPoint)
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to think on his/her feet, have the ability to multi-task, and have strong analytical skills
Must be a highly motivated, team player

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
