ProEnergy is looking for a Water Plant Technician for our managed facility in Orange, TX

POSITION
Summary:
The individual in this role will be responsible for the maintenance and performance of all water systems for a 100 MW Cogen facility in Orange, TX. The Plant Water Treatment Technician is responsible for maintaining a world-class water chemistry program to ensure the long-term life of the HRSG's (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) steam turbine and other vital plant equipment in accordance with all plant specifications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintains all plant water treatment systems to ensure high quality water along with high reliability of the water systems
Performs planned maintenance and makes repairs on all plant water systems equipment. Maintains and updates the calibrations log
Stays abreast of the latest developments in the power industry as it relates to plant cooling water and process water chemistry. Makes recommendations for any plant modifications or improved practices that could improve plant safety, performance, availability, reliability, and cost optimization
Maintains computerized database of all plant chemistry and utilizes trends to predict and prevent problem areas with water chmistry
Performs wet water chemistry on all boiler water, cooling water, and de-mineralized water systems
Utilizes a variety of sophisticated instruments (spectrophotometer, automatic titrator, on-line water analyzers, portable water analyzers, silica analyzer, and sodium analyzers) to analyze and record critical plant water data
Continuously keeps Control Room Operator (CRO) and O&M Manager informed of plant chemistry
Makes recommendations to O&M Manager on effective ways to correct any plant chemistry parameters that are out of specification
Physically adjust plant equipment to bring plant chemistry within specification
Establishes and continually improves sampling programs necessary for efficient operation of the HRSG's, mult-media filter systems, Demin System, wastewater, and cooling water systems
Maintains laboratory and chemical inventory sheet; informs O&M Manager of inventory deficiencies in a timely manner to ensure sufficient inventories of all chemicals, reagents, and laboratory equipment
Maintains close communication with plant chemical supplier and seeks technical guidance from vendor as problems arise
Maintains plant chemistry log sheets in organized fashion and ensures all chemistry is performed as required on a daily basis
Assists and trains all plant operators regarding plant chemistry procedures and techniques; works closely with plant and O&M staff to communicate best practices for maintaining a world-class water chemistry program
Works with operations and compliance manager to compare and maintain all required NPDES samples and reports
Assists operations staff with startup and shutdown activities as requested by CRO or O&M Manager
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline
OR
Three years (3) power plant water chemistry experience
Five years (5) industrial water plant chemistry experience
Technical competency (understand software, hardware, network, etc)
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
BS Degree in Chemistry
Prior experience with combined cycle power plant water chemistry control and operations
Proficiency at reading and interpreting professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Proficiency with computer tools and programs
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS;
Strong electrical and instrumentation aptitude, good understanding of mechanics, physics, and mathematics
Excellent technical, conceptual, and financial skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
A demonstrated ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
