Sprinkler Fitters and Helpers
Job Description:
o Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for fire sprinkling systems applying knowledge of system operation and following blueprints.
o Inspects work site to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain pathway for pipe.
o Plans installation or repair to avoid obstructions and to avoid interfering with activities of other workers
o Cuts pipe, using saws, pipe cutter, and pipe cutting machine according to specifications
o Threads pipe, using pipe threading machine or hand threaded.
o Grooves pipe using pipe grooving machine or hand grooved.
o Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand tools and power tools in accordance with plans and specifications.
o Installation of Fire Suppression Systems. These included, but are not limited to wet, dry, pre-action, fire pumps, backflow devices, deluge sprinkler and fire suppression systems.
Qualifications:
o Self-starter that can work with little or no supervision
o Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly
o Capable of performing physical labor
o Excellent communication skills
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
o High School Diploma or Equivalent
o At least one years' experience in the Fire Sprinkler / Suppression industry
o Valid Driver's License
o Ability to work well with others
o Ability to Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions; such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment
o Maintain proper documentation for work performed
o Utilize and understand NFPA requirements
o Must adhere to OSHA, MSHA, and company safety policies and procedures
o Follow verbal and written instructions, read blueprints including structural and sprinkler prints
o Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs
o Willing to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check
o Travel may be required
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
