EG01 - Manufacturing Engineering Technician
Kelly Services is currently searching for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for a client located in Fenton, MI.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor s degree in an Engineering related discipline or experience in lieu of Work
Experience:
2-5 years engineering experience.
Required knowledge base and work experience includes:
Engineering processes, Manufacturing processes and techniques, Lean manufacturing principles.
Computer Skills:
Proficient with 2D and 3D Solidworks preferred CAD Software, Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Visual MFG ERP experience highly preferred.
Other Skills:
Technical Writing and Composition skills are a must.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to organize work load and manage time effectively.
Position requires an analytical thinker, a problem solver and a quality and results oriented individual.
WORK SCHEDULE/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typical work-week is 45 hours, more or less depending on needs; some Saturdays will be required 1st shift position This position operates mainly in a clerical office setting but will also spend a considerable amount of time on the manufacturing floor.
Will routinely utilize standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Walking to various areas of the facility will be required routinely.
Will be required to occasionally push, pull, lift and carry items relative to the duties and responsibilities below.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Utilize and comply with the Quality Management System.
Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products utilizing CAD software, Visual MFG ERP system, CNC saw software, CNC cutting table software, etc.
Determines sequence of operations, parts, tools and specifies procedures needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
Develops, improves and evaluates manufacturing processes; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; soliciting observations from operators; integrating lean concepts.
Incorporates Lean Manufacturing tools to support the critical initiatives of improving manufacturing efficiency, improving quality, reducing scrap, increasing yield, meeting ship commitments, and driving down cycle-time through the development of new processes, optimizing work flows, space requirements, and equipment layouts.
Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
Understanding of process intricacies and provide knowledge for troubleshooting and root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Develop and maintain process specifications for production processes.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
