We are looking for Senior Data Analyst

Senior Data Analyst
Augusta, ME
12 months Strong possibility for an extension

Primary duties:
This contractor will be responsible for creating new senior management, policy level and care management reporting to help make decisions. This will include updates to our monthly reporting and additions to our current reporting structure. This reporting is imperative for the Senior managers to have the reporting required to manager Mainecare program and create new initiative's to increase quality while maintaining or decreasing the current healthcare costs.
Requirements:
Must have experience leading major projects and initiatives
Experience assessing different platforms and Analyzing Claims Data
Ability to lead a Project (not a Team)
Ability to obtain, synthesize and integrate a broad range of data (financial, utilization, health care and quality) from multiple sources for use in analytic/financial reporting.
Ability to utilize data and statistical analysis to test, challenge and defend assumptions.
Able to define and communicate how to best prepare reports, analysis and forecasts in support of clinical, operational and budgetary initiatives. Will work with internal/external staff on how to prepare reports.
Knowledge of large scale ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and/or health claims process applications and data warehouses.
Senior level knowledge of Regression and Trend Analysis
Forecasting
Management experience required
Must be self-directed
Math major 7+yrs.

Software/Development Tools/Database Systems:
o SQL or Oracle experience required
o Cognos experience required, 7+yrs.
o MS Excel experience required
o MS Access experience preferred

Programming Language/Development Tools: SQL - Intermediate; Able to build a new environment in SQL
QA/Testing: Understanding of Healthcare Data Required. Knowledge Transfer.

Preferred but not required:
o Previous experience within the medical insurance field, hospital or financial firms PLUS!
o Experience working within and understanding the RFP process helpful
o State/Federal experience within Dept. of Health and Human Services helpful
o Previous experience working as an Adjuster a plus

2. SPSS (IBM)
3. OBIS (Deloitte) - Outcome Based Information Solution
4. MedeAnalytics
