A-Team Solutions is seeking a Medical Physicist to provide services for approximately 20hours yearly at two locations throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, for an opportunity that we are currently pursuing.
Job Duties:
o Provide review and oversight by a qualified Medical Physicists to ensure quality radiation protection service are being delivered by the DEHS, Institutional Environmental Health (IEH) staff conducting radiation protection surveys on above table and dental x-ray equipment in our service area.
o Oversight includes an annual document audit of the IEH staff's radiation protection survey reports.
o If requested and necessary, a performance audit may also be completed by observing the IEH staff's field survey practices.
o Trainings and courses may be provided by candidate
o Additional services provided with this oversight may include professional consultation, guidance and specialty services pertaining to radiation safety.
o DEHS guidelines call for radiation protection surveys every 2 years for above table medical x-ray and every 4 years for dental x-ray equipment. All totaled there will be 195 pieces of x-ray equipment that we are routinely conducting performance testing.
o Candidate shall provide verbal and written feedback on document audits and field observations.
o Shall provide vendor with written radiation protection survey reports for auditing.
Requirements:
o Must be qualified Medical Physicist meeting the American Association of Physicist in Medicine (AAPM).
o Physicist must have a Master's or doctoral degree in Physics, Medical Physics, biophysics, radiological physics, medical health physics, or equivalent disciplines from an accredited college or university.
o Must have been granted certification in the specific subfields of medical physics with it's associated medical health physics aspects by an appropriate national certifying body and abides by the certifying body's requirements for continuing education.
o Must have hands on performance testing on above table medical x-ray and dental x-ray unit and dose estimating. Has been in active practice performing the services being produced within the past twelve months.
Not much travel is anticipated. The candidate will review 1-2 reports tops. The candidate would not travel to each location, at the most 1-2 locations a year to observe our field practices. Any requested training would be completed as close to the vendor location as possible.
