Operations Manager, Transportation
J. P. Mascaro & Sons is a leader in the Solid Waste Industry in the mid-Atlantic states. We currently have an excellent opportunity available for Operations Manager Trainee. Excellent opportunity for a recent grad with a Transportation and/or Business major, or a Driver who wants to move into a management position. Must possess leadership abilities, supervisory experience, experience in the Transportation Industry, and have a valid Commercial Driver's License or permit, or be able/willing to obtain a CDL license upon hire. A current Class A CDL License is a plus. An entrepreneurial attitude is essential, as you could be running your own division of the company once you've mastered this role.
Job Description:
In this capacity, you will report to the Division General Manager, and will manage and oversee the operations of a busy residential and commercial waste and recycling collection facility. Responsible for managing and directing crews in their daily routes, coordinating operations with customers and municipal representatives, and ensuring the safe and efficient daily operations of employees and company equipment. Able to provide exceptional customer service while upholding our motto If it's service, it's us!.
Training:
This position offers an extensive hands on training program that is designed to teach you the business from the bottom up, ensuring a solid understanding of all of the jobs and functions that are required to successfully operate the business.
Qualifications:
Must be a hands-on manager, dependable, and able to work with little direct supervision.
Willing to take on increased responsibility as you learn and grow in this role.
A Bachelor's degree in Business and/or Transportation experience.
Have, or be able to get a Commercial Driver's license within a short period of time. Company will assist the right candidate in obtaining his/her license.
Must be a high energy individual with an eye for detail, a strong work ethic and strong customer service skills.
