Functional Statement Title:
Advanced Practice Nurse PractitionerThe Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner provides direct and indirect patient care and participates in research, education, and consultation.
The APN is accoubtable for the care of designated patients and/or clinical programs.
Provides both direct and indirect professional Cardiology services to patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, while acting as a liaison between the four Cardiology physicians, additional facility Physicians, patients, and familiesCoordinates necessary care assigned to mid-level Cardiology practitioners with three additional PA-C or NP providersIn collaboration with their supervising Physician(s), care provided by Cardiology mid-levels will include evaluation and treatment of patients with known or suspected cardiac disease Assists providers in the writing for treatments Provides on call coverage on an as-needed basis during normal working hours, weekday on-call night coverage, and on a rotating schedule of holidays (as determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs/Federal Government, with coverage coordinated within the Section).
Consultation and coverage will include assisting the present VA Cardiology staff, in addition to provision of clinical and educational training to any Cardiology fellows, residents, and/or medical studentsProvides both medical and technical support, as applicable, to RN's, LPN's, Health Technicians, other midlevel providers, and Physicians, while exercising appropriate judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising Physician or other healthcare professionals.
Performs complete History & Physicals on medical patients, identifying and alerting the Cardiology Attending Physicians to any conditions that presentEvaluates, provides care, and orders labs, special studies, IVs, diet, and any required therapeutic interventions, as appropriateIn conjunction with the Physician, the mid-level will formulate and implement both inpatient treatment plans along with post-discharge clinical follow-upEvaluates and provides appropriate intervention (in conjunction with supervising Physician and consulting Physicians) for ER and nursing home patients consulted for Cardiology careEvaluates, screens, and counsels patients on health maintenance, and for promoting appropriate utilization of community resources.
The midlevel may design, conduct, and/or participate in research studies, manage databases, and perform quality assurance, as applicable Performs other related duties as assigned.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
