Pharmacy Tech

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for dispensing medications under the direction of the on-duty pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for packaging medications under the direction of on-duty pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible to ensure operations are executed in a manner, which maximizes effectiveness and efficiency, and complies with all legal and regulatory requirements associated with health care providers.
Responsibilities
1. Dispensing of medications under the direction of the on-duty pharmacist.
2. Dispensing of diabetic monitors and supplies.
3. Packages medications under the direction of the on-duty pharmacist.
4. Ensures compliance with all licensure and federal, state, and local regulatory.
5. Assist in resolving client concerns.
6. Report product incidents as required in accordance with company policy.
7. Participate in QI Plan
8. Participate in continuing education programs.
9. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
The following functions require the professional judgment of a pharmacist and may not be performed by a pharmacy technician in accordance with all applicable state laws:
1. Acceptance of verbal prescriptions.
2. Certification of filled prescriptions.
3. Weighing or measuring active drug ingredients without verification by a pharmacist.
4. Reconstitution of prefabricated medication without verification by a pharmacist.
5. Entry of orders into the computer system without verification by pharmacist.
Minimum Qualifications
1. High School Graduate
2. Pharmacy Technician Program graduate preferred but not required.
3. Registration with state Board of Pharmacy
4. Familiar with all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations.
Physical Demands for the job

1. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as talk and hear.
2. The employee is required to use hands to operate pharmacy and office equipment.
3. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
