General Summary
We are currently looking for a Surveyor in our Transmission Division who will be responsible for providing survey and technical support for GREs Transmission Division to meet the design requirements and ensure the objectives of the department are met.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing surveying requirements for all transmission, substation and communication system needs.
Supporting the design of projects by completing plan views and topographical and section drawings using AutoCAD, the accepted GRE and National Electric Safety Code (NESC) standards and specifications for construction projects.
Qualifications:
Knowledge typically acquired through a two year technical degree (such as drafting, survey tech., or civil tech.), and typically 0-3
years of survey or related experience OR 2-4
years of survey or related experience. 4 year technical (such as surveyor) degree is preferred.
Ability to maintain a current medical card to perform the essential job functions.
Experience with drafting utilizing AutoCAD software.
Familiarity with survey equipment.
Experienced with safely operating small equipment, such as chainsaws, four-wheelers, etc.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment is required.
LSIT preferred.
Approximately 80% of the work assignments will be performed in the field, with approximately 60% of those assignments requiring overnight stays
