Supervisory Health Systems Specialist

The incumbent provides support to the Office of the Chief of Staff and coordinates clinical systems and medical staff functions involving this office.
This includes, but is not limited to, daily operations of medical care delivery, clinical program planning, research, medical education, Network operations.
Incumbent participates in the planning system analysis of administrative support functions affecting clinical operations.
Incumbent provides administrative advice, recommendations, and leadership to Administrative and Clinical Service Chiefs, Service Line Directors, Chief of Staff, Associate of Chiefs of Staff, Associate Director, and Director on issues and decisions affecting Medical Center operations.
This incumbent represents the Medical Center on behalf of Chief of Staff on matters pertaining to clinical operations and medical staff matters as requested.
This incumbent serves as first line supervisor for a number of subordinate employees performing a variety of medical staff administrative, clerical, and technical support functions including medical staff credentialing, clinical applications, and general clerical.

Supervisory Health System Specialist GS-0671-13/ PD#2024 Major duties include but are not limited to:
o Provides administrative and technician supervision of the Medical Center Staff Coordinator for Credentialing and Privilegingo Ensures compliance of VHA regulations and Medical Staff Bylaws, and timeliness of report submissions pertaining to credentialing and privilegingo Provides administrative support and consultation to medical staff committees reporting to the Medical Center Clinical Executive Board o Assists clinical service chiefs and medical staff on resources issues, interpretation of medical staff policy, and the clinical integration of care delivery systems into the total medical center operationso Works directly with the Chief of Staff in the formulation of professional service policies through completed staff work, studies, observations, specific recommendations, and committee reportso Participates in committees chaired by the Chief of Staff as well as other medical center committees, as appointed by the Director, serving as a representative of the Office of the Chief of Staff and management representativeo Provides pertinent information and recommendations on administrative matters and system issues, taking actions to correct problem matters and facilitate continuous quality improvemento Reviews and evaluates local and VISN proposed policy and procedure drafts submitted to the Chief of Staffo Prepares responses and endorses congressional inquiry responses pertaining to professional service operationso Oversees and is responsible for all administrative functions inherent in the Office of the Chief of Staffo Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of managemento Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standardso Approves leave schedule assuring adequate coverage for peak workloads and traditional holiday vacation timeo Directs, through subordinates, the work of administrative, technical, and clerical personnel who provide medical practice management support such as:
medical staff credentialing, clinical applications, and women's health .
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
