The Plant Manager responsible for delegation of work in own department. Supervisor to ensure work areas are safe and work produced meets customer deadlines and quality standard. Perform all duties and promote continuous improvement within department.
Duties and
Responsibilities:

o Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
o Assist General Manager in quoting projects
o Report and Ensure accuracy of inventory and production status
o Initiate and follow up on delegated tasks
o Participate with inventory control.
o Complete weekly production status meetings and report/explain job overages completely and effectively.
o Record job overages and analyze root cause.
o Manage Attendance Policy
o Involvement in Performance management of Team Members up to applying the Progressive Disciplinary Process effective, constructively, consistently and fairly.
o Active involvement in Manpower planning to meet production requirements i.e. overtime, new hires, temporary staff.
o Promote fair and honest effort through teamwork.
o Provide the team with the right tools and knowledge to effectively build a quality product.
o Treat all team members equally, fairly, with dignity and respect.
o Promote open, honest communication amongst one another.
o Set a positive example for the Team at all times.
o Answer Team Member questions as soon as possible
o Maintain Team Member confidentiality.
o Provide each Team Member with performance feedback on a regular basis.
o Encourage Team Members to discuss their questions, concerns and suggestions in a positive manner.
o Deliver Training of new hires, temporary staff and refresher training to existing employees
o Ensure high Quality Performance of all team members
o Delegation and follow up of tasks and responsibilities
o Play an active role in maintaining housekeeping on the production floor
Working Conditions:
o Office and Manufacturing environment.
o Regular exposure to noise/temperature/vibration and some physical lifting.
Safety and Housekeeping:
o Responsible to adhere to all Health & Safety programs in accordance with OSHA.
o Follow and ensure the company's procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout the plant.
o Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to safety rules and regulations.
o Ensure that your department is clean, tidy, organized and a safe workplace at all times.
o Active role in maintaining excellent housekeeping through leading by example.
o Report unsafe conditions.
o Wear P.P.E. such as safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, etc.
o Ensure that safe and healthy conditions are met at area of responsibility. o Grade 12 Education
o Minimum 5 years experience in Supervisor role in manufacturing preferable welding/fabrication industry.
o Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
o Works well under pressure
o Have good organizational, leadership, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
o Able to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements.
(scheduled and non-scheduled overtime, etc)
o Microsoft Office Product experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
