Summary:
Lead and implement approved continuous improvement efforts identified by the location, by the company, or by the CI Team.
The CI Team consists of all CI Managers from all facilities with dotted line responsibility to the VP of manufacturing.
Develops and leads management team members to create CI culture in their facility.
Collaborates with management team members to support company and facility goals.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Lead and/or coordinate continuous improvement activities and projects designed to improve KPI's.
Hands on involvement to test out process concepts, and implementation of improvements.
Conduct studies in cost, quality, productivity, flow, value stream mapping and root cause analysis.
Conduct operational audits to identify areas of opportunity.
Identify and recommend location specific and company-wide improvement initiatives and opportunities.
Lead local Kaizens and similar team-based improvement initiatives.
Train employees, as needed, in all aspects of lean manufacturing, team effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
Establish measurement systems where needed to identify opportunities and to quantify implemented improvements.
Specify best practices between locations and work to transfer such practices to each location.
Perform other tasks as needed under the general charter of Continuous Improvement.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years experience in continuous improvement initiatives and methods engineering.
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, flow manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, SPC, problem solving, investment analysis and best practice analysis.
Must have mechanical skills and working knowledge of Industrial Engineering tools (Time Studies, Work Flow Analysis, Pareto Charts, etc.
) Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to implement win-win solutions.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, group presentation skills, communication skills and computer proficiency (including Excel and Word).
A self-starter with the ability to work independently as needed.
