Essential Functions:
oSustain a legacy VB6 client/server application by using technical skill set, especially in SQL and unit testing, to dig in and resolve issues
oWithin the context of the existing system create and modify code that meets design specifications, follows standards, and is easy to maintain
oTest and peer review code for technical accuracy, standards, and functional compliance to the design
oProvide technical assistance and technical training to other departments and peers as required
oWork with Quality Assurance team to ensure that the product is fully tested
oWork with Documentation to see that all enhancements, bug fixes, and new products are documented
oWork with Product Management team to ensure appropriate project requirements are met
oParticipate in and often lead a Development team that is responsible for developing quality software
oInitiate and implement complex technical designs spanning multiple application tiers
oMentor and train entry-level software engineers
oPerform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge and Skills:
o5
years of with Visual Basic 6 application and DLL coding/debugging of client/server software solutions
oMicrosoft SQL Server queries and stored procedures
oEnjoy working with others in a team atmosphere
oExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
oEnjoy maintaining/enhancing code to meet changing customer/industry needs
oHave a customer-focused orientation
Education (minimum requirements/equivalent):
oBA/BS or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience

Experience:
o5
years of experience with client/server application development and maintenance using Visual Basic 6 and Microsoft SQL Server
oExperience with 3rd party components and DLL's
oExperience supporting and enhancing existing applications
Nice-to-have:
oAgile development experience (will train if you don't have)
oFinancial systems knowledgeEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
