Summary
Contribute to the integration and engineering of the POS system requirements, including working with geographic Retail teams to incorporate specific local requirements. You'll help focus on introducing technological innovations to support new business initiatives and to increase efficiency within the store environment. Your subject areas will include traditional Network infrastructure components (WAN, LAN, WLAN, Firewalls, Loadbalancers, Proxy solutions) also work in conjunction with store operation teams for supporting handheld devices, payment terminals, kiosks, ticket printers, loss-prevention systems, work force management systems, etc. In addition, you'll work closely with the development, operations, business, and partner teams to ensure successful results.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
5
years' experience in Network Infrastructure implementation and support
2 years' additional experience required in lieu of a degree
Cisco Certified Network Associate preferred
Cisco Wireless Certification strongly preferred
Experience with Juniper HW and Junos OS strongly preferred
Prefer experience in a Retail environment
Ability to pull a diverse group of individuals with different goals together and facilitate productive discussions
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
Flexible, ability to deal with ambiguity, and a demonstrated desire for continuous personal growth
Demonstrated leadership capability, including ability to motivate and mentor others within work group
Ability to work with onshore/offshore teams, and communicate using virtual communication tools (phone, conferencing, online meeting)
Experience with Lean principles and methods is preferred
Passion for new technologies
Excellent communication of complex topics to a diverse audience and positive customer service skills
Ability to lead, build positive business relationships, and influence collaboratively across IT and the Retail Business
Success operating in a transforming, fast-paced, complex, high visibility global Retail support environment with multiple, competing priorities
Demonstrated ability to work with and manage outside service vendors. Experience managing the contract life cycle.
Experience in Lean process improvement efforts
Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively communicate with both business and technical IT teams
Cisco Wireless Expertise with Centralized Enterprise management design
Advanced understanding and experience with Enterprise Network Infrastructure and Topology
WAN, LAN, Wireless, Firewall, Proxy Services, Application Load Balancing, WAN Acceleration, etc
Understanding of OSI model.
Ability to perform packet capture and analysis
Understanding of common protocols - their functions, port nos., acronyms etc.
Understanding of private and Public IP addressing
Authentication and Encryption methods used in wireless in enterprise environments.
Experience in setting up wireless from a security perspective in a highly sensitive enterprise space
Apple handheld device integration experience
Mobile Device Management System Administration
Network Device Management System Administration
Design document creation and operational process documentation
Ability to work with onshore/offshore teams, and communicate using virtual communication tools (phone, conferencing, online meeting)
Ability to support working outside of normal business hours to provide after hour or on-call support when necessary to solve high profile issues or complete critical path projects
Project management and organizational skills must be sophisticated enough to be able to track and drive complex global technical initiatives to completion with the assistance of Retail IT/third party vendor staff
Candidate would benefit from application engineering and deployment/build experience
