Automotive Quality Project Manager within Containment and Sorting

MUST HAVE SORTING AND CONTAINMENT BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Reports to the Regional Manager and Area Manager
o Ensure overall service quality and support to containment and inspection activities at the OEM/Tier 1 facility to which they are assigned.
o Ensure personnel are following guidelines regarding safety, protective wear, dress code, cell phone use etc. at the OEM/Tier1 facility to which they are assigned
o Schedule employee shifts including upsizing and downsizing when required.
o Facilitate the employee performance correction procedure as required.
o All aspects of launching and maintaining new projects including initial meeting through to ensuring effective process flow
o May conduct recruiting services supporting containment projects and sorting activities.
o Review inspection data
o Track PO's and assure that the values are not exceeded. Assure proper financial coverage for each project.
o Audit work instructions and observe inspectors to ensure procedures are correct and consistent.
o Review timesheets for accuracy. Sign off on timesheets.
o Verify that required supplies are available in sufficient amounts and controlled
o Meet with supplier and customer representatives to ensure satisfaction and that all supplier requirements are met.
o Responsible for the health and safety of inspectors and lead hands.
o Conduct ongoing audits of effectiveness and containment methods.
o Communicate regularly with Area Manager and Regional Manager
o Troubleshoot and problem solve with the supplier and customer for process flow issues, new defects, and quality alerts
o Complete corrective action reports when required.
o Respond to service requests and ensure overall service quality and support to containment and inspection activities.
o Demonstrates commitment to reduce the risk of workplace accidents by complying with relevant local Health and Safety legislation.
oMust provide High School Diploma or GED
oMust pass Drug test and Background check
Qualifications and mandatory skills include:
o Experience in quality, sorting and containment, engineering, inspection or a related field required
o 3-5 year supervisory experience required.
o Previous automotive industry experience preferred.
o Ability to work with minimum supervision
o Excellent computer skills
o Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
o Ability to coordinate, prioritize and multitask.
o Demonstrated flexibility within a fast-paced challenging environment.
o Ability to take initiative and recognize needs.
o Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential material
oAbility to travel to various plants within the region
