Merchandise Assistant

Summary Of Duties
Provide overall administrative support to the Merchandising Department, including the Merchandising Manager, Executive Management and Design Team Members. Strong math skills, experience in EXCEL, understanding of product flow, product knowledge, consumer knowledge, and merchandising is essential to this position.
Essential Functions
o Input data in a timely & accurate manner into the web-based/Company information systems; comply with or assist in the completion of department spreadsheets & reports.
o Handle & oversee discontinued notices from Ashley Furniture Industries.
o Print new product price tags & assist creating MTOs (Merchandise Transfer Orders) for new product being transferred from warehouse to showroom floor.
o Maintain monthly sales by series spreadsheets & delayed product reports.
o Assist in tagging merchandise according to tagging standards, & price the merchandise for current promotions.
o Perform other work as required or assigned.
Qualifications
o Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) & business office procedures.
o Ability to multi-task, to be a self-motivator & to stay well organized & detail-oriented in a fast-paced work environment.
o Professional & efficient oral & written communication skills.
o Sitting and standing associated with normal office environment.
o Availability to travel as position requires.
o Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, & holidays as business needs require.
o High School Diploma or G.E. D., Degree in Merchandising or Design preferred
o 1-2 years of related data entry experience preferred
