Job Description Picking Supervisor (North Charleston) Compensation:
Will Discuss - DOE but competitive! Picking Supervisor for Charleston, SC area Distribution Center A major sporting goods manufacturer is looking for a qualified individual to fill the position of Picking Supervisor in the Ladson/North Charleston, South Carolina area.
Through proven analytical and leadership skills, this person will play a vital role in the daily operations of a major warehouse facility.
We are looking for a talented, service-oriented professional to manage people, inventory, and daily workflow.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, high energy, analytical problem-solver.
The Picking Supervisor will be expected to maintain a high level of picking accuracy among order selectors while achieving established benchmarks and meeting throughput rates within the distribution center.
You will be responsible for Order Fulfillment, Fill Rate, Production, Accuracy, and Safety as well as return to stock program.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for personnel, training, production, 5S Principles, on-time shipments and picking accuracy as well as the return to stock program to include the following:
o Manage all facets of, and implement process controls for picking operations , establishing picking zones, improving pick rates, order processing, value added services, and safety of work group.
o Manage all picking personnel to include training, counseling, periodic Job Review Discussions, and formal bi-annual performance reviews.
o Operational reporting to include work order scheduling, picking productivity, planning, staffing, throughput and accuracy of inventory.
o Daily communication and teamwork with other supervisors, managers, senior managers and other departments to improve service to customers.
o Budget and Labor Cost Control The ideal candidate will possess and demonstrate the following:
- Two to four years of experience in a warehouse environment, order fulfillment, leadership, and work order processing.
- Excellent leadership by example and interpersonal skills a must.
- Excellent analytical skills with an understanding of performance metrics.
- Oversight of work order program.
- Monitor and review picking discrepancies to increase accuracy.
- Perform root cause analysis when inventory discrepancies arise.
- Experience in velocity reporting and product slotting.
- Ability to communicate both professionally and confidently.
- Ability to create professional memos, letters, e-mails, and reports.
- Must have the ability to think on your feet and make solid business decisions.
- Maintain stable performance and poise in high stress situations.
- Must have the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and create solutions to problems.
- Must be able to understand and absorb new information quickly.
- Understand and willing to create change.
- Requires minimal direction.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and WMS systems.
Familiarity with AS400 a plus.
- Previous supervisory/leadership experience.
