Nurse Practitioner (Post-Deployment Clinic)

VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner for the Post-Deployment Clnic at the Leavenworth division of VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System.
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
1.
The Nurse Practitioner functions in an independent clinical capacity providing direct patient care.
The clinical components include assessing, diagnosing, planning, and prescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of health problems, health promotion, and preventive care.
2.
The delivery of care is in accordance with established standards, hospital policies and procedures, consistent with the plan of other health care providers.
The Nurse Practitioner has individualized Scope of Practice and is under physician supervision.
3.
The Nurse Practitioner possesses a high degree of knowledge, skill, and competence in health nursing practice.
He/She provides leadership in the application of nursing process to client care, organizational processes and/or system in order to improve outcomes at the program, service, or organizational level.

The Nurse Practitioner is adept at interpersonal skills, working closely with all members of the interdisciplinary team and leading these treatment teams as assigned, within his/her practice, the provider is assigned a caseload of patients, which includes completion of comprehensive history and physical examinations, writing orders for medications and diagnostic test.
The provider will interpret test results, adjusts testing regimens, and consults with other health care providers.
He/She will complete annual physical examinations of the outpatients and satisfies applicable clinical reminders when appropriate.
5.
He/She will take an active role in identifying his/her own educational needs and continually update clinical skills.
The Nurse Practitioner participates in Patient Care Services, Medical Center and VISN level committees as assigned.
6.
In addition, the provider is accountable and responsible for possessing the knowledge and skills to:
a) communicate and interact appropriately and courteously with all internal and external customersb) maintain confidentiality of electronic, written, and/or verbal patient information, c) Demonstrate working practice that includes adherence to infection control stands and the safe use and operation of equipment.
7.
The supervising physician, clinical service line director and Nurse Executive all have professional oversight responsibility for this position.
Work Schedule:
Primarily day shift, 8:
00am-4:
30pm, 5 days per week.
Shifts may need adjustment based on the needs of the service.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
