Family Nurse Practitioner Needed (PRN)
Maxim is looking for a FNP in Camden, South Carolina. The position will on a PRN as needed basis. The practitioner will work a varying schedule during the following hours: M-F 8a-8p; Sat 8a-5p; Sun 10a-6p.
Key Responsibilities
o Provides comprehensive clinical patient care through interviewing, examining and treating associates and their dependents in order to meet their health and wellness needs. Prescribes appropriate medical treatment and clinical medications for patients and orders studies, tests and ancillary care services as required
o Refers to appropriate specialists outside the health center in a medically appropriate and efficient manner
o Follows all established rules and guidelines of evidence based care and best clinical practice
o Practices in a collaborative fashion consistent with the concept of a patient centered medical home
o Refers patients to and utilizes unique internal associate benefits and resources to maximize health outcomes
o Documents all services in electronic patient medical record
o Regularly reviews chronic medical conditions that require ongoing medical attention
o Educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients and families
o Demonstrates exceptional and effective collaborative partnership and communication style with both patients and staff
o Consults/collaborates with the onsite health center physician as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues
o Participates in quality improvement, continuing education, and other patient care programs
o Maintains privacy and confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations
o Effectively communicates with patients through technology to include email, video, telephonic, and text.
Job Qualifications
The successful candidate will have completed a Master's Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program. Certifications and licensure required below:
o Active and unencumbered APRN license
o NPF, NPI & DEA
o Current National Board Certification
o BLS-Provider Certification
o Must be able to suture and must have peds experience; must have prior EMR experience
o The ideal candidate will have at least three years experience, the ability to work independently and experience working with an Electronic Medical Record
Responsibilities include:
o Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care; record the normal and abnormal data for review by the physician.
o Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations; write progress notes; prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings; obtain psychosocial history relevant to patient care, and assume responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients.
o Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
o Carry out therapeutic procedures such as cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes; monitor progress of patients, report progress to supervising physician, and maintain record of each patient's progress, consulting with supervising physician when patient's progress does not meet anticipated and/or predetermined criteria.
o Provide patient education.
o Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
o Work requires completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Active state nursing license required.
o Prefer at least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a hospital or related medical facility.
o Must pass all required Maxim screening tests with an 80% or greater.
o Clear criminal background screening.
o Current BLS card.
o ACLS/PALS per contract requirement.
o Current TB results or chest x-ray.
o Current physical exam per state regulations or contract requirements.
