PlayStation offers portable entertainment through amazing game-play experiences that inspires people across the world. The PlayStation family of products includes the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation Mobile and PlayStation Network.

Ad Solutions
The Ad Solutions Team is responsible for revenue operations and promotions for ad sales. This intern will aid the team in building out solutions for the field ad sales team. The ad solutions department is responsible for analyzing revenue, sales trends, and the digital market place for Sony Pictures Television. Additionally, this department manages all media planning, ad solutions and trade marketing for Sony's digital property, Crackle and for Playstation.

Through this department, the intern would learn about buying trends in digital advertising, helping advise Sony on its digital strategy for the upcoming fiscal. With changes in technology influencing audience ad buying, this person will help derive a 6-12 month plan, helping Crackle prepare for upcoming industry challenges stemming from new technologies from Comscore and Nielsen. Additionally, the intern will gain an understanding of the sales-lifecycle as well as how best to develop a succinct and strategic sales opportunity that meets the objectives of potential clientele.

In doing so the intern will align with projects that consolidate key research findings useful for sales collateral as well as play an instrumental role in the creation of seasonal sales opportunities, gaining a robust understanding of the digital marketing landscape.

Approach
This person will be exposed to material aspects of ad solutions (pre and post sales). This intern will not only learn about how to create sales packages (media planning and promotions), but they will also help anticipate the needs for future sales requirements. This internship will have two main themes during course of program.
- One area of focus will be on measurement, working specifically with comScore and Nielsen data sets.
- The second area of focus will be assisting with Promotional packages and marketing services

Ad Solutions - Measurement
- Work with the team to help solve for the measurement of the Crackle audience
- Work with Pricing and Yield, become knowledgeable regarding the pitch to pay process
- Help create recommendations so the Account Services team can create media packages with targeting
- The intern will play a role in the development of demographic profiles that consolidate research stats broken out by key subgroups of various types of Crackle users

Ad Solutions - Promotions
- Intern will work closely with Ad Solutions to identify key seasonal opportunities that will yield client interest and sell-thru
- Participate in the ideation phase of sponsorship elements that should be part of the seasonal package.
- Create promotional material around seasonal offerings, tentpoles, and Originals
- Assist the Director of Promotions with collateral development and associated tactics

This intern will become exposed into all aspects of running a digital publishing business. In skill set, they will become knowledge with Freewheel, Powerpoint, Excel, and Adobe Omniture. The intern will become very familiar with the objectives of clients across various verticals when advertising not only on crackle but industry-wide. By gaining exposure to the sales-lifecycle, the intern will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced within the digital and video landscape as well as and understanding of how sponsorships are packaged, priced and executed. Lastly, the intern will gain exposure to the inter-workings of how an organization is structured and the key function of each department in the sales-cycle.

Qualifications

The Spectrum Internship Program's summer session is a full-time, 40 hour/ week commitment lasting for a 8 week period from June 22 through August 14. All applicants must be in good academic standing and available for the entire 8 week session.
