Heavy Duty Cleaner

SUMMARY
Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Cleans the facility by maintaining the flooring, seating, gaming equipment and all other furnishings, fixtures and equipment in the facility. Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include tending furnace and boiler, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and maintaining facility grounds such as cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
o Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office spaces to maintain the facility and its grounds in such a way as to provide a clean, safe, and serviceable environment for both customers and employees;
o Services, cleans, or supplies restrooms;
o Gathers and empties trash;
o Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming;
o Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures;
o Removes snow from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels, or spread snow melting chemicals;
o Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications;
o Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors;
o Notifies managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems;
o Requisitions supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties;
o Cleans windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees;
o Sets up, arranges, or removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings;
o Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures;
o Dusts furniture, walls, machines, or equipment;
o Moves heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks;
o Maintains the cleanliness of all equipment in the facility in a manner that insures its use daily or as needed;
o Assists in preparation of the facility for special events as needed;
o Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related Swinomish Casino Facilities department experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Must have a strong background in both the janitorial and building maintenance fields including exterior grounds maintenance. Extensive experience and knowledge of cleaning carpets, floors, and all other equipment and fixtures in a gaming facility is required. Must also have experience operating the necessary equipment to carry out the responsibilities of this position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of liquid and weight measurements.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
A Class IV Swinomish Gaming Commission permit is required upon employment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Regularly exposed to second hand smoke.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
